We are here today, December 1st, to commemorate World AIDS Day 2024, with a mission and a passion. The World Health Organisation (WHO) urges leaders and people to support the fundamental right to health, standing side by side with partners and communities worldwide.
Since 1988, December 1st has been observed as World AIDS Day, a worldwide event aimed at bringing attention to the AIDS pandemic brought on by the spread of HIV infection and honouring those who have lost their lives to the illness.

WHY IS 1ST DECEMBER AIDS DAY?
In order to honour the lives impacted by the pandemic and to increase awareness of HIV and AIDS, the inaugural World AIDS Day was held in 1988.
